An Overwatch Training Club is for advanced gamers who take their hobby a bit more seriously. We aim for healthy esports hobby where life and gaming are in perfect balance.
Overwatch training sessions are often the first step into the world of esports. Weekly group practices offer the opportunity to develop important life skills and learn about the physical and wellness coaching side of esports. Training teamwork and communication skills is a big part of esports and participating in competitive tournaments with like-minded individuals under the guidance of a skilled game coach brings a lot of excitement on top of it all. In a safe and encouraging environment, esports can become a great hobby that enhances a young person’s well-being.
At School of Gaming, we believe that gaming is a great hobby when it is organized, led by trained and pedagogically qualified coaches, and when teammates have embraced the values and goals of School of Gaming. We participate in competitive tournaments, but focusing on having fun and personal development are so much more important than winning.
School of Gaming’s Overwatch practice sessions bring routine to children’s and teenagers’ gaming. Our game coach encourages them to move away from a sedentary lifestyle by providing tips on how physical and mental fitness affect game performance. A systematic approach and a healthy dose of discipline help form positive and lasting habits in the lives of children and teenagers.
And that's how it starts. Let’s work together to ensure the whole team is mentally and physically ready. Train on your own time too, remember to get outside, bike to school, and leave those energy drinks on the shelf. Playing in a team is at least ten times better than soloing. That’s the salt and chili pepper of esports.
This club is for players aged 9–16 who are interested in becoming better players and testing their skills against others, both solo and as a team. If Overwatch is a familiar game and you’ve played it at home before, but you want to take your skills to the next level under the guidance of a game coach and with the support of teammates, then this group is the right choice.
The club meets weekly. If a session is missed during any week, it can be made up during another club. Each 90-minute session includes a physical activity break. In all our clubs, we teach healthy gaming habits and the basic skills of digital citizenship.
We meet online weekly on the Discord platform, which you can download for free from the internet or an app store. To participate in the club, you will also need a computer with Overwatch 2 installed, and your computer must be able to run it. You can also join using a console like Playstation or Xbox.
Balancing gaming, diverse hobbies, family and social relationships, schoolwork, and adequate rest and nutrition are key aspects we emphasize in our activities. Gaming should not dominate a young person's life but should be one enriching part of it. This is the goal of School of Gaming's Overwatch program.
Since we operate online, your child's online safety is of utmost importance to us. We provide instructions on how you, as a parent, can ensure your child's online safety, and we do everything possible on our end to keep your child safe.
Each group is led by a trained professional in game education. Game instructors, or "gedus," provide a safe and positive gaming environment for gamers. They can always be reached via email or phone.
Participating in the club requires some initial setup, but you have the support of the server attendants in the Lounge and the office staff. Once the system is set up, the gaming club is "the easiest hobby ever," as one of our customers said. You don't have to drive your child anywhere, bake chocolate chip cookies, or argue about whether to go to the club this week. All our gamers eagerly await the weekly gaming club.
In addition to the weekly gaming club, your child can join our safe gaming community. We have zero tolerance for toxicity and bullying. Our moderators have eyes and ears everywhere and we have strict procedure against all bullying.
On club days, gamers can participate in casual conversations in the Lounge, and the Lounge team is always there to help if you have any issues with the computer, game, or subscription. Our gaming community always has someone to play and chat with. We also organize various community events and challenges almost weekly, to which your gamer is warmly welcome to participate.
