Basic info

School of Gaming's Minecraft Clubs use your child's beloved game as a learning environment for skills they'll need to navigate digital worlds—skills that benefit them in school and later in their career. In our club, children learn teamwork, verbal and written communication, online safety, media literacy, strategic thinking, and empathy.

Our story-driven game worlds and club activities enrich your child's vocabulary and imagination. Minecraft is an open playground where your child's creativity can flourish! It's also a safe environment to try new things through their game avatar—perfect if your child is shy or nervous in new situations.

A gaming educator is always there to support and guide your child through every adventure. They help children understand situations, introduce game elements at an appropriate pace, and resolve conflicts while teaching emotional skills and good friendship.

For whom is this club?

Suitability

Our Adventure Club is perfect for 9-12 year olds who have already played some Minecraft. The game world story revolves around a magic school where all students have magic wands and broomsticks. In the school library, they might discover mysterious spells or bump into a vampire boy who's transformed into a bat. Dragons fly in the sky, and children can test their magical battle skills in the spell arena.

If your child would enjoy a more relaxed pace, we recommend our Relax Paced Gaming Club, where players live peacefully in the lush, bustling village of Llama Valley, solving problems for the townspeople. For children who love Minecraft's creative building projects, the Builders Club is likely their best match.

All School of Gaming materials are designed to be neurodiversity-friendly, and our gaming educators are trained to accommodate different types of gamers. Our standard club size is about 12 children, but if you believe your child would do better in a smaller group, our schedule also includes neurodiversity-friendly gaming clubs with just 6 children per group.

Participate weekly from your own home

The club meets weekly. Missed sessions can be made up by joining any other similar session during the week. Each 90-minute session includes a physical activity break. In all our clubs, we teach healthy gaming habits and the basic skills of digital citizenship.

The Minecraft club meets online on the Discord platform, which you can download for free from the internet or app store. To participate in the club, you also need a computer with Minecraft Java installed. The game license is not included in the monthly fee.

Safety is our top priority

Since we operate online, your child's online safety is of utmost importance to us. We provide instructions on how you, as a parent, can ensure your child's online safety, and we do everything possible on our end to keep your child safe.

Each group is led by a trained professional in game education. Game instructors, or "gedus," provide a safe and positive gaming environment for gamers. They can always be reached via email.

The best hobby ever

Participating in the club requires some initial setup, but you have the support of the server attendants in the Lounge and the office staff. Once the system is set up, the gaming club is "the easiest hobby ever," as one of our customers said. You don't have to drive your child anywhere, bake chocolate chip cookies, or argue about whether to go to the club this week. All our gamers eagerly await the weekly gaming club.

It comes with an inclusive and safe community

In addition to the weekly gaming club, your child can join our safe gaming community. We have zero tolerance for toxicity and bullying. Our moderators have eyes and ears everywhere and we have strict procedure against all bullying.

Our gaming community always has someone to play and chat with. We also organize various community events and challenges almost weekly, to which your gamer is warmly welcome to participate.
