Aino ontuva

Aino has been a game educator at SOG since 2022 and particularly enjoys running Minecraft clubs — after all, who wouldn’t want to be a blockhead? However, her favourite part of the clubs is the storytelling and getting immersed in the adventures. Storytelling also interests Aino outside of video games, and she is both a Dungeon Master and a player in Dungeons & Dragons. Her background includes university studies and professional experience as a full-stack developer.

In her free time, Aino spends her days wearing out the treadmill and tending gardens (when able). She hasn’t quite developed a green thumb yet, but she learns something new every year. Her dream is to have a potato field of her own. Luckily, she can always tend to a virtual farm in a game in the meantime! Beyond virtual farming, Aino enjoys all kinds of games, but role-playing games are her absolute favourite.

Aino aims to make the clubs immersive storytelling experiences where children’s creativity can flourish. Characters might be given names and backstories, and sometimes their stories continue to live on in the SOGversum for years. Game-related challenges are tackled in different ways, and participants get to decide for themselves what kind of story their own character will have.
